BEGINNERS HAND BUILDING FLORAL BOWL WORKSHOP 21/2/26 AM
Learn how to make a ceramic floral display bowl with Studio Yōki!
Floral bowls are a great way to display styled bouquets, with the aid of a kenzan pin you have more control over how your stems sit and the overall look and style of your arrangements.
Over three hours, I'll guide you through the enjoyable process of creating a unique vessel from clay. I will demonstrate essential techniques and provide support as you learn:
- Getting comfortable with clay properties and preparation.
- Using slab building and coiling techniques to build your vase's form.
- Methods for securely joining clay sections and achieving a smooth surface.
- How to use moulds to shape your bowl design.
This workshop is perfectly suited for individuals new to ceramics who want to learn the basics. However, those with previous clay experience looking to practise their hand-building skills are also very welcome.
All clay, tools, and necessary equipment for the activity are provided. After the workshop, I will handle the finishing touches for you – applying my white glaze and firing your creation. Only one piece per person will be fired. Any extra pieces can be fired at an additional cost of £5 per piece.
Your mug will be ready to collect in 6-8 weeks. They can also be posted at an additional cost of £5 per piece for UK delivery. If looking to post outside the UK please contact me prior to purchasing to check if I post to your destination.
